For today, we have money in our account. The paycheck and the tax return hit the account on the same day. By tomorrow, most of it will be other places but I thought I would look at it a few minutes in the account and smile. We had some extra expenses buying the bed and I had some homeschool material that I needed, little things here and there but they add up. We were kind of laughing the other day because we used live with almost NO savings, now, we don't like it to be below (x amount).
For today, Leah is a high school student who is taking college classes. She is starting to get lots of mail from 4 year schools. We probably receive something every day and some days bring us 2 or 3 college brochures. She has narrowed down her choices to Christian schools that offer print journalism major. It's kind of funny, in some ways she is starting to act like a college student. She let me know today that she would give me a call and let me know when I could pick her up. We only have one car so she will have to think about other people's schedule too.
For today, I am employed. I have decided not to work next fall. (My job may end sooner than I anticipate since they already know who going to replace me with, my bosses daughter, a high school student. She's a great kid and a hard worker. I asked to work till the end of school but at this point the decision is out of my hands.) With Jordan doing high school hours next year I can't really squeeze another 2 hours into my day. Mark doesn't really like me bringing work home to do at night now. Our family has enough stresses without adding things that don't need to be there. Who says a stay at home parent is not busy?
For today, we are all healthy. Jordan had a quick flu bug this week. So far no one else has had it. I'm praying we don't get it.
For today, I am reminded that God has promised to take care of our every NEED (not our every want). I am grateful for the privileges I have had to be there for my children and my husband. Mark works so hard and is an excellent provider. The "stuff" of life is nice but isn't necessary. No, my home isn't beautifully decorated but it is nice, comfortable, and functional. It is all we NEED and then some. For today I am reminded to count my blessings. I am truly RICH indeed.
