We've been busy this weekend.
Friday Mark and Jordan and I went to Wal-Mart to see if we could find me some shorts for summer. I was afraid that I would have to make some out of cut-offs but I finally found some in the $15 range that were acceptable (I'm sure not paying $40 which is what they cost in a lot of department stores). The last pairs I had were a size 10 and they all died from much use over the last several years. I was surprised that I wore only a 4 (if it had an elastic or drawstring waist, I've always been thick waisted). I need to keep working on this getting healthy thing but I wish I could see the same type of results in the upper part of my torso. I guess we all have our problem areas.
Saturday we took Leah to work so we could run errands. I thought this Saturday was our city's hazmat dump day (for stuff like paint, florescent bulbs, etc.). I missed it by a week, rats stuff still stored in the garage a little longer. Instead we decided to check out a local nursery and pick up some of the herbs we will grow this summer. It still gets cool enough, I wouldn't dream of putting basil out yet. Mark re-did some of the steps leading from the upper part of the yard down to the lower part (our back yard is terraced). The steps are kind of a stacked stone kind of thing. Leah to and from work... the usual.
We went to the early service this morning. I went and did some shopping to pick up some stuff at the health food store for Jordan. I try to stock up when I'm there so I don't have to keep running back. I hate shopping anyway and the fewer trips I have to make the better. My friend Amy does this thing called Bountiful Baskets which is a food co-op where you get produce of all different types for decent prices. I think we will try it out and see if it's something we like. The point of telling you this is that Amy gave us a coconut that she couldn't figure out what to do with. We took it and after some googling decided to make coconut milk out of it and try a curry recipe. I hope we will like it but it will be interesting anyway. I don't know if Jordan will like the taste or not but it is gluten-free.
Better go and figure out what I need to do to get Jordan off to youth group.
