DIY Projects

Back to blogging...

Here is a couple of DIY projects I did a few weeks ago.
I squeezed some limes and lemons (separately) and then ran the juice through a fine strainer.

Next I poured them into some tiny round ice-cube trays to freeze.  Yes, I labeled my ice cube trays because lime and lemon juice looks so similar and I want to know the difference.  The cubes seem to be the perfect size for my 24oz. water bottle. I am also doing the cubes so I can buy limes and lemons in bulk but not have them go bad before I can use the juice. The truth is, I hate going to the store and the fewer trips I make the better!

Then I take the limes and lemons and shove them in a mason jar and then pour vinegar over them.  I let them sit at least 2 weeks (usually a lot longer).  When I am ready to use the cleaner I strain the liquid through the fine strainer pictured above and put the liquid in an old Windex bottle.  I've tried the cleaner on a lot of things but I mostly use it for cleaning off the counters and shower doors. After using several different peal types, the lime/vinegar combo  is definitely my favorite.
