Busy Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend here. Friday, Mark and I went out on a dinner date to the Olive Garden. Because we were willing to sit in the bar area we were able to be seated without a wait. Colorado one of those places where you can't smoke in restaurants so the bar isn't a bad place to sit. We shared a meal and an appetizer but still managed to be full! After that I wanted to go out and look at freezers. I've been wanting one for several years to put out in the garage. I found the one I want at Lowes now I just have to save back a couple of my paychecks before we can purchase it. I've been wanting one so we can buy turkey's (and other meats) when they go on sale, store back some apple cider, and start shopping at farmers markets for fresh fruits and veggies at a good price. I'm also thinking if we have stuff stored back that we will be less likely to eat out when we just don't want to cook.

On Saturday we did some cook ahead stuff for the week. Mark and I chopped up veggies for oven roasted veggies, we made a marinara sauce, cooked some chicken, and I made up some hummus and veggies. (We're kind of having a veggie intense menu this week...just happened that way.)

We raked up the leaves from our front yard and the ones from our tree that had blown into Steve's yard Saturday afternoon. The kids jumped in them a few times before we got ready for church. This morning Mark got them all chopped up with the mower to use as mulch for the yard just as it started snowing again.

Now I think I'll cuddle up with my honey and watch a movie. Goodnight!
