Day 2 of school for Jordan and Mommy completed. Only 170 (required) days left for this school year. We of do more, of course, but that's what we legally have to complete. I've had to increase Jordan's work load another hour due to the increased comprehension demands in the 7th grade History and Science. Reading comprehension has always been Jordan's greatest weakness. He reads most of the words ok, he just doesn't understand what all them mean. I don't know yet how I'm going to schedule the therapy hours Jordan does, Miss Micha hasn't come back from maternity leave yet. We'll figure everything out and get in a routine soon.
Kind of on subject but not, we have Jordan evaluated every year by a homeschool evaluator who can do testing on kiddos like Jordan. I hadn't mentioned testing this year to Jordan yet but he has started asking when we are going to go see Miss Jill. I'm glad he likes her, it makes the process so much more pleasant. In our state we are only required to test every other year but we do it every year mostly for my own accountability and so I can catch any holes before they become a problem. So far, Jordan has managed to make a year plus a little progress in each of his subjects despite the fact we not "on grade level".
