It has been a crazy week here and it's only Tuesday! A friend of mine's son (Chris) was in a serious car accident yesterday morning. Luckily his seat belt was on but he hit a fence and the fence went through the windshield, there is some damage to his face. He may loose his right eye. The doctors did several hours of re-constructive surgery yesterday but they won't know about the eye for a little while. At the time I am writing, he has not yet regained conciousness but has shown some signs that he may be aware on some level. They tried to take him off the ventilator today but he's not ready yet. Prayers for my friends and all of their family.
I'm having a tough time with the weight the last couple of weeks. I've hit a little bit of a plateau and maybe it's the cooler weather but I have a serious case of the munchies.
Jordan is really fighting school this week and has been fussy. I know that this is a phase and that this too will pass. I think I'm going to follow Dr. B's (the psychologist who is supervising our program) and take a week off next week. I'm hoping that this break will give both Jordan and I time to chill and reboot. Maybe with a fresh outlook we can hit it hard and make it through till Thanksgiving.
Mark is in rehersals for a local production of Godspell. I have to selfishly admit that I am glad to have the drums out of the house for a few days. I am praying that one day we will have a house with a basement to keep the drums in. Never satisfied with our lot in life are we? I shouldn't complain, the drums are one of the ways that Mark's soul sings.
