I have just been trying to put one foot in front of the other these days and am getting little more than what has to be done-done. Health wise I have been about the same, feeling a little better but still a good long way to go. Weather days are still an issue, all of the symptoms are worse on those days. Exercise wise I am trying to find the balance between how much to do without hurting myself. Exercise really does help with lots of stuff but my tendency is to try to do too much. The muscle relaxers have been a God send for exercise related muscle tension and headaches due to stress in my shoulders. Some day I'm hoping my body gets used to the healthy way of doing things and decides to behave itself. Progress is slow but I am trying to not get discouraged.
On the rest of the family (who are by far more interesting than Mommy):
Leah-Let's see, she is up to about half of her tuition paid for in scholarships. I think at this point she is planning on giving it a whirl and seeing if she can make it work. She will have to balance out loans, work, and school work (she needs to keep a 3.4 GPA to keep her scholarships). I know she can do it but as you know we mommas worry. Mark had academic scholarships at one point too and lost them by just a tiny fraction of a point. Mark and Leah are so much alike, and she wonders why I am worried? We are planning a visit to KU for orientation and working in a vacation to family this summer.
Jordan-We think he has grown again. Several people have commented lately on how much thinner he looks, and I know for sure he can't keep his pants up. I had him stand next to Mark the other day and he was looking Mark in the eye so I am guessing Jordan is about an inch taller which would make him about 5ft. 9in. He is eating breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. It's hard to keep enough food in a growing boy. I have noticed the behavior issues being a bit more of a problem too. Hopefully, things will settle back down in his body and we can get on with business. If I have counted right we have 5 more weeks of school (including this week).
Mark-has been busy at work but is really trying to make being at home a priority when it is at all possible. Yesterday he worked from home which was nice. When he can he is trying to work with our neighbor to put up the back fence that blew down, luckily, most of the parts will be recycled from what is already there. Our neighbor said that new boards were about $1.50 each so the fewer you have to replace the better. This weekend Mark will be drumming at church. Lee Strobel (writer of The Case for Christ, and The Case for Faith) will be speaking at church this weekend so it will be an interesting weekend to be on worship team.
Last weekend we spent running errands. We have 5 weeks of school left and the printer died, great. The one we got is big and we may have to find some other place to put it rather than on the desk. We considered just getting a small printer but the ink cartridge replacement costs were more for the small printer than the big one. Jordan HAD to have new shoes, his old ones were 3 years old and looked like it. I was surprised that his feet hadn't grown. Our small group met, we are now down to us and one other couple. We are trying to decide who to invite and what to study next. We may have another couple interested. We may wind up being an empty-nester (or in our case, as empty as the nest gets) group.
That's all of the novel for now. Hope you are having a good week.
