First Day of School

Today was Leah's first day of high school/college. (No pictures today, Leah was running a little behind on getting ready.) She liked her classes and her teachers. She did have one friend from her previous school, Jack, in three of her classes. It's always nice to know someone in you class but Leah is hopeful Jack won't hold on too tight because Leah would like to make some new friends too. Leah thought maybe her Spanish teacher was a little impressed because as she left she said goodbye to her teacher in Spanish (the teacher's primary language is Spanish, English is her secondary language).

Jordan and I did 3 hours of school before lunch and then he did therapy which I can also count for school hours. It went pretty well. I can tell it is going to take a while to get back in the Math groove. Jordan will miss the easiest stuff but when it comes to the hard stuff he just breezes right through it. We are mostly just continuing with where we left off in Jordan's school but I decided to go ahead and start with the ABEKA 6th grade History/Geography. I don't have to come up with my own tests with this material and it is going to cover a lot of the same stuff we were using in our previous book.

Mark is back to work from vacation today. He rode his bike to work for the first time and I think it was more difficult than he expected. He is going to try a different route next time and see if that is easier. It's raining now and if it's still raining when he gets off work I'll go and pick him up so he doesn't have to get wet.

Now that "teacher Mommy" is off duty, I guess I had better go and get my regular chores under way. Have a great day!
