I read a post on FB from my mother-in-law saying, "God is good" and it struck me deep within my soul. How often to I/we say that only when things are going well? Can I truly say that when the bottom has fallen out of my world? I guess you could say we have had a reality check this week. We are doing fine but so many of our friends and acquaintances are having a REALLY rough time. Some are out of work, some are dealing with MAJOR medical issues, some are having issues with children. Yes, in all of that, God is good and his mercy endures forever.
LORD help me to remember that you walk with me in good times and in bad. You are always there. When life is good, you make my cup overflow with your goodness and make my joy complete. When life couldn't get much worse, you are there to comfort and encourage me, you help me to bear the unbearable. My hope is in you in good times and in bad. The end of the story has already been written: when my part in this story of life is over I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. God is good!
