Ah...the end of our first week of school for the new year. Things have gone ok but I am glad to be finished for the week anyway. I thought we were further behind on our school hours than we are (because I had to take so much time off at Christmas for the ear thing) but it looks like I am roughly on pace with what I did last year. I may squeeze in a Saturday here and there just so I can be sure to be finished by the first of July. My friend Janet and her family are coming out for a visit this summer!!!! Janet is going to take Leah's senior pictures for us.
Speaking of the ear thing, it is better but I am still having some sensitivity issues and a bit of buzzing in that left ear still. It feels like there is some fluid back there but it's not enough to be painful so I'm not sure what they can do.
Have you seen the HGTV Dream House on tv? We saw the special on New Year's Day and a lot of what they did with it I would love to do here on a smaller scale here. I loved almost all of the furnishings, except for the master bedroom, which is not really my style. Most of the furnishings were a fall leaves color scheme which I absolutely love! Short of winning the house or Publisher's Clearing House I think I'll have to furnish my "dream home" bit by bit. This house is the closest thing I have seen yet to what I would like to do (kind of that transitional modern style).
Leah hasn't started her Spring Semester yet. She's getting kind of bored (and is tired me saying, "Get a job"). We have a few things to purchase yet, some of which we will be reimbursed for. One thing she has to have is a knife set, for her cooking class, that she can carry around in a bag. It's like $175! For that, I hope it is really great quality and will last a lifetime. This is one of those intro classes for people pursuing a Culinary degree. (I don't think she is going to do that but she hasn't ruled it out 100%.) I keep telling her that she should write for a food magazine.
