Another week has come and gone here. Jordan got an A on his Science test today. I am so glad we switched to the ABEKA Science for him, it is really right up his alley as far as subject matter and it has daily comprehension questions which is good for him. We are still struggling w/the addition and subtraction part of Math. In typical Jordan fashion, he has no trouble w/multiplication, division, and square roots but makes loads of mistakes adding and subtracting. Keep praying that eventually I can get him to MEMORIZE his addition/subtraction tables because he has a fantastic memory (he got stuck and didn't memorize the tables when they taught him that stupid touch point math, multiplication-he memorized and therefore does great).
Jordan and I also finished Despereaux which took us no less than 4 1/2 months to complete. Our next "big" book is going to be "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. We have the book, Focus on the Family's audio drama, and the movie of this story so I am hoping this will help him with interest and comprehension. I'm starting to look at things for his reading that have a multi-media approach so that he can learn to love reading. We continue to get a lot of science type books at the library to read for fun. I do wish he would get onto another subject besides coyote's (I'm a little tired of Reagan).
Leah's doing great with school too. She is starting to manage her projects a bit better. She took a Math test this week and got a 100%. We got her another stack of library books so she can start thinking about what she wants to do for her January book report. She is excited about Winter Camp coming up. She is already making her list of things she needs to buy (but it's still weeks away). We got her all signed up for her drama class but that doesn't start for another few weeks. I really think she will like it once she gets into the swing of things.
Mark and I are just plugging along. He has been busy most of the week with this and that. Hopefully next week will be a little quieter for him. I've got to get Jordan ready for 3 different tests next week, it's unusual to have them packed together like that.
Have a great weekend!
