Gratitude Adjustment Day 16

I am thankful for one: 1 car-it works; 1 television-it works; 1-drumset it was free and it's loud enough; 1 husband, daughter, and son-all I need; 1 God all I will ever need!

I was thinking this morning about something and I wanted to write it down before I forgot: As Jordan is learning grammar rules he is starting to employ them in his reading and speaking. Yes the "normal" rules don't apply when it comes to the world of autism. Why is it that these kiddos need to SEE the rule (many times over) before they start to learn how to use it in everyday life? I remember when Jordan was in public school I would tell them, "I know this doesn't make sense for anyone else but teach Jordan sentence diagramming and I think it will help his speech." Of course they looked at me like I was a square egg but Momma knows best, don't forget that! I may not have a Dr. in front of my name but I have a doctorate in my kiddo. It's been interesting to see some of the new things we are getting even in this stage of the journey.

In the rest of life, things are going ok. Mark is still incredibly busy at work. He took some time while he was on a work trip last week to do some planning and writing things down and I think it has helped him organize his thoughts a little better. He talked to a friend yesterday who is in the early stages of dealing with a down-syndrome diagnosis for his son. I talked yesterday to an Asperger's mom who is going to start homeschooling her kido. Leah is busy with school and doing scheduling for the spring semester. And we are all looking forward to Thanksgiving when we can have a day together!

Hope you all have a great day!
