Thursday

I just realized as I looked at my calendar this morning that yesterday was one month since Christmas, where has the month gone?

Life is settling down to it's usual roar here.  Mark has been to Kansas this week and got back last night.  He is SO tired but they have a couple of desk-top guys out from some of their new sites training today so he has to be there.  Jordan has been "weathery" lately and is fighting doing school.  He's been a bit of a handful, not bad just obsessive and in my face and personal space, but I am hoping that this too will soon pass.  Leah's new semester has started so she is doing that and work and running here and there.  Everybody is busy-busy.  We lost two sections of fence in the last week with all of this wind.  Our neighbor has offered to do the work if we will pay for the materials (shared fence is shared responsibility).  He has no money and we have no time so I think it is a fair trade. A fence up means that I can relax while Jordan jumps on his trampoline and burns off some of that excess energy.

We tried another new recipe last night, a potato cake from Bobby Deen's, "Not My Mama's Meals" (on Cooking Channel). Bobby's recipes are lighter and healthier versions of Paula Deen's stuff.  I've always liked the idea of Paula's stuff but I hadn't tried any of her recipes because of the butter/fat content of most of them. We didn't have the Greek yogurt the recipe called for and had to use red potatoes (because that is what we had) but it was really yummy!  I think we will have to check out more of those recipes.  On our new recipes for the year, that is 2 already, I think we are off to a good start! I wonder what other yummy tastes will find their way into the Bye household this year.

Better get dressed and get at my day.  Jordan is already obsessing at me about this and that....sigh.
