Day one of our trip took us to Bowling Green, Kentucky where we took a tour of the Corvette Assembly plant. It was really neat especially for Mark. Unfortunately you can't take pictures inside the plant so we will have to settle for this one to put into our scrapbooks. If you ever get a chance, it is a really neat thing to take the family to see.

Corvette PlantAfter our tour we went just a little way up the road to Mammoth Cave. Of course our pictures inside the cave didn't turn out very well. It's hard to get a good picture in a black hole. We took the historic tour which took us about 2 hours to complete. This was a cool experience too but it probably wouldn't be for those of you who are claustrophobic since some areas of the cave are a bit of a tight squeeze. I did better than expected (I am a bit claustrophobic myself) because a bunch of college age guys behind me were cracking jokes and talking about hitting their heads.

After our tour and some time at the gift shop we had a picnic dinner.
After dinner we drove to Lexington, Kentucky to spend the night. The end of day one!
