This weekend was spent doing odds and ends of things. It's the first of the month (almost) and spent yesterday planning out our menu for the month. The monthly menu is one of those things we are doing to try to do to help us stay on a budget. Today was my shopping day, not something I particularly enjoy but it must be done. This afternoon, Leah wanted to get some tennis shoes so I agreed to take her to Kohl's. She didn't find the shoes she wanted but she did get a really cute little shirt.
Leah's clothing budget thing is going great. She is really conscious of how much she is spending on what. Someone in our small group asked a great question last week, "What happens if Leah doesn't spend all of the yearly clothing budget?" The answer, she gets to keep the money. It is amazing how much better discount stores and sales start to look when you are spending your own money!
Mark spent the day doing some stuff around the house. We had a tree limb that was lifting up some shingles on the roof that had to be trimmed. Then he had to do some patching and seeding of the grass where our yard is bare. We are trying to add some grass to our yard that is a little more tolerant of dry conditions, bluegrass is great if you have an
irrigation system but we don't. Mark also mulched around our little herb garden this weekend so it will retain the water a little better.
Jordan has been on the computer this weekend (surprise, surprise). Since his coyotes are "on vacation" he is having to be more creative in finding things to talk about. This concept of everyone not enjoying talking about the same subject all day long (for 7 months) is a hard concept for him. It's just one of those little autism quirks but he, as much as possible, needs to understand that most people have a variety of interests.
