Jordan's decide to watch another Shakespeare DVD, today's installment is Taming of the Shrew. He has this really cute way of cutting these plays down to the bare minimum. I am saving for my Christmas letter something entitled, "Shakespeare in 5 Seconds by Jordan Bye". He really knows how to get down to the barest essentials of the story. Today is one of those autism days where Jordan is really wound up for some reason. He started all this yesterday and has been a little grinchy and talking NON STOP. Oddly enough, Shakespeare and classic music calm him a bit...go figure.
I took Leah to the doctor today for a check-up. She is doing fine. I thought maybe her iron level was a little low but that turned out not to be the case. I allowed her to choose her own doctor within this practice that I have been going to. Leah chose a female doctor, feeling that she would be more comfortable discussing girly things with a woman. I thought it was important to give her some measure of control (within reason) and start letting her make some of those kinds of choices for herself as she is moving towards adulthood.
Now I have to go and figure out yesterday's math lesson. We did a lesson on basic geometry and I saw quickly that I needed to find a way to make this concept visual for Jordan, a 2-D drawing just wasn't cutting it. I picked some stuff up at the teacher store today and I'm going to see if it helps. Some good school news, Jordan took a History/Geography and a Grammar test yesterday and got an A on both (the first time). I think it is helping to tell him exactly what I expect in order to keep our privileges.
