Recycling

I've been interested in the idea of recycling for a while but it always seemed like too much trouble and too many extra "things" sitting around the house. Today I looked online and our trash disposal company is offering weekly curbside recycling with no sorting for a small fee of $5 a month. It will be interesting to see how much stuff we can recycle and how much trash we will throw out. I'm not really into the whole "tree hugger" thing but I do think of it more from the Christian perspective of being as efficient with God's resources as we can be. We are doing little things to do our part like shopping more using canvas bags. I still like my plastic store bags on occasion because I use those for trash can liners in our small trash cans. Mark and Leah are doing more environmentally friendly commuting (which saves US money!!!).

There's not a whole lot going on around here. Leah has a couple of days off from school this week. The weather has been turning cool around here and I hear we are going to have a chilly weekend. I hope we don't wind up with one of those "October Surprise" snows where you have leaves on the trees and snow on the ground, if you get very much snow it can be a real mess.
