You may be asking yourself, "Why on earth is she posting pictures of a toilet on her blog?" Well, the story is that we are doing some re-modeling around the house and one of the projects we decided on was to put in some water efficiency toilets. The half flush uses only .8 gallons of water and the full flush uses 1.6 gallons. So far we really like the first one we bought really well. I love the fact that I don't have to listen to the water run forever (especially in the middle of the night). I probably use the cleaner on them 1-2 time per week (but you kind of want to make sure you hit any bathroom at LEAST once a week anyway). One of the other selling points for us is that it is supposed to be extremely difficult to stop them up. We did order one of those quiet close lids for the first one and decided it was a MUST purchase for the second one. Jordan has a habit of slamming the toilet in the morning, not the sound I really want to wake up to. A general tip when looking for fixtures for your home, do your homework. We decided what we wanted and then did some looking around town but in the end we ordered online. Yes, you can order a toilet online. We saved over $100 per toilet by shopping around online, not to mention that we will probably get almost half of the cost of the toilet back in the form of a rebate from our utility company.
I kind of like the buttons instead of the handle for flushing but maybe it's because the novelty hasn't worn off yet.
