Our car has been miss firing for one reason or another for months. We have had it into the dealership at least a couple of times last year. Once or twice we had vacuum hose leaks. Another time we had at least some of the spark plugs replaced and one of the coils (this model has coils instead of spark plug wires). Well, it's missing again and we really didn't want to haul it back to the dealership. Mark got a thing from a co-worker that reads codes and then through an app or hooked up to your computer you can read the problem (it's technical and I wouldn't begin to understand it but he does). So the long and the short of the thing is that Mark bought new coils for the van and will hopefully be replacing them this weekend. Hopefully this will fix the missing thing. We got a thing from the bank on our van that we are scheduled to make our last payment next month. It will be so good to have it paid off.
On another but related note: Mark and Leah are going to look at a car they found on Craigslist tonight. Mark can take a look at it in general but can also use the code reader to see if there are any major issues. Another kind of cool thing is that we got an app for Carfax so we can check to see if there is any report on that. We got the ability to check up to 5 cars in the next 60 days for $45. Kelly Blue Book also has an app so we know, and can show the owner that we know, what is a reasonable value for the car in question. These are kind of cool tools to have on hand when you are looking for a used car! (Janet, I was thinking about all of the stuff Todd does on your cars. He can ask Mark if he wants more details.)
Off to try to rest out a headache. With all of this pollen in the air and wind blowing around, it's no wonder my head hurts.
