Tastes Like Ketchup

This is my new phrase borrowed from my friend Janet. After eating Mark's salsa she says she can't eat the stuff from the jar anymore because it tastes like ketchup to her. As we are trying to make cutbacks (like everyone else these days) we are making more of our own food any buying less processed food, I'm sure it's better for us anyway. Yesterday we made a homemade chicken and rice soup-it was super delicious! I'm thinking to myself, "Why would I buy soup in a can? It tastes like ketchup." The other cool thing is that since we are cooking the chicken in the crock pot we are heating up the house less.

The kids and I walked to the library today. Leah needed to read an autobiography and I thought I would pick up a couple of books and a couple of DVDs while we were there. Jordan didn't get any new books because he still has some from last time that he needs to finish but he did pick up another National Geographic video. I'm so glad there is so much educational stuff out there these days, I need to feed my teenage human computer some "more input".
