One more thing crossed of the list on preparing Leah for the day she will need to leave home, we helped her balance her checking account. This is one of those little things we needed to take care of and had just been putting off because there is so little in her account at this point. I think that we will plan to get her a MS Money program for the laptop we are planning on getting her for graduation (so glad we will be out of debt by then). One of these days we will need to go over budgeting but I don't really think that is necessary until she has some income other than her clothing budget.
Leah is starting to narrow down college choices. She's looking at one in Arkansas, one in Texas, and California still has some pull on her heart. I think the California thing has a lot to do with the fact that her friend Vicky, a foreign exchange student from China, is in California. In so many ways Vicky is kind of like a sister to Leah. We've been talking a lot about he need to start talking to schools so we can see what is going to transfer or if it would be better for Leah to graduate with an associates where all of her credits would have to transfer. A little sad, SBU is off the list, they don't really have her major. I'm not sure how the whole scholarship thing is going to work out but we need to start delving into that process soon. I guess according to the government we are rich and so grants are pretty much out of the question. I don't want her to be in debt for school if she can help it so it is scholarship and or work!

I can't believe Leah is ready for college. Time sure does fly by so fast. I do want to print that picture of the boys and I.
