Just Allergies

I went to the eye doctor today. My eye issue is just allergies and I don't have pink-eye. They are putting me on a steroid for my eye to take the swelling down and some allergy drops to help with the histamine reaction. The doctor told me something I've already heard several times, that people having allergy issues this fall are the people who are usually spring allergy people. Not much comfort there but I guess it lets me know that I am not alone.

The first day of fall has brought some cooler temperatures. It's been kind of nice. I'm not ready for cold weather yet but a good dose of fall would be a welcome change. As one who suffers with allergies, a good freeze or two is a blessing. I always love the changes in the trees. I find that I am more "homesick" for the Midwest in the fall where the trees turn such vibrant colors. They turn a beautiful golden yellow here but it's just not the same. I look forward to some good apple cider, Carmel apples, and squash of many shapes and colors. I went out and cut some of our herbs to dry this week. I've got sage and rosemary drying on the kitchen table. Our rosemary grew like crazy this year and we have an over-abundant supply. (Mark says it looks like I chopped down a tree and spread it out on the kitchen table.) I think maybe some rosemary bread may be in our near future!
