Mother's Day 08

Mother's Love
Her love is like
an island in life's ocean,
vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, the rain, the tide.
'Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the West,
By tender Counsel on the South
And on the East by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine Faith, and Truth, and Prayer;
And thro' the changing scenes of life
I find a haven there.

I found the poem above an the internet and it just reminded me again of some of my "goals" for being a mommy. I pray that my children will find our home and our relationships a calm and safe place in life's journey. Everyone needs a place of "safe harbor" to run to and re-charge. I hope the poem blessed you as much as it blessed me.

I decided that I wanted pictures of everybody for Mother's Day. We got ourselves all trimmed up and made-up and took some casual pictures in front of the crab-apple tree in back.

One of the things I did for Mother's Day was go get a haircut. I'm growing it out a bit so it's in one of those in between stages. I don't know about you but a new haircut makes me feel special and pretty.

Mark also cleaned up the house for me for Mother's Day! I thought that was so sweet. Since I have been dealing with the labrynthitis, I have not been able to get to some of those things that needed attention like the kitchen floor. It is really nice to look at a clean house!
Happy Mother's Day!
